The ARIO Token

NOTE: The ARIO Token and its associated functions are still in development and have not yet been released.

Overview

ARIO is the native token of the AR.IO Permanent Cloud Network. The token incentivizes gateway operators to provide vital services that facilitate access to and utility of the permaweb. In addition, ARIO can be used for purchasing and managing Arweave Name System (ArNS) domains as well as for participation in delegated staking.

Adding tARIO Token to ArConnect Wallet

To view your tARIO token balance in ArConnect, follow these steps to add the token to your wallet:

  1. Open your ArConnect wallet (available on both desktop and mobile)

  2. Access Settings:

    • Mobile: Click the 3 vertical dots in the top right, then select "Settings"
    • Desktop: Click the hamburger menu icon in the top left

  3. Select "Tokens"

  4. Click "Import Token"

  5. For Desktop users: Ensure "Token Type" is set to "ao Token"

  6. Enter the ao process ID:

    The token ticker "tARIO" and name "Testnet ARIO" will appear automatically

  7. Click "Import Asset" to complete the process

Once imported, you'll be able to view your total tARIO balance in your ArConnect wallet.
